Much of the material for this series of sermons has been drawn from the 'Old Testament Challenge', a course of studies originally presented by John Ortberg and subsequently republished as 'Teaching the heart of the Old Testament' again written by John Ortberg with additional material by Kevin & Sherry Harney.
This series of sermons is not being presented in the order of Genesis to Malachi. Instead, some of the key aspects of the Old Testament (and some of the difficult bits!) are first being identified in an effort to promote an understanding of the culture and world of the Old Testament and to assert its relevance to us today.
