News for 2008

March:

A church meeting was held to discuss plans for May Day, to include a drama with St. Matthews Church drama group also to receive an update on the maintenance work being undertaken at Gotherington church.

April:

During the 11th to the 13th of April the church enjoyed a weekend away at Lindors. The teaching for the weekend was from Romans 5-8. This, as expected was thought provoking and very challenging. Time was set aside for reflection, worship and to consider our personal walk with Christ.

May:

May Day at Woodmancote saw the church sponsoring a Christian drama, performed by St. Matthews Church drama group.

During May and June the church ran a Contagious Christianity course.

July:

With good weather, another annual cream tea was enjoyed at the home and garden of Eddie and Helen.

Further work was undertaken in the church with the addition of a new electric heater installed in the back room.

September:

An Alpha course was run at the Methodist Church in Bishop's Cleeve from September to December, that saw quite a number of regular worshippers from Woodmancote church assisting in running the course or helping in many other practical ways. Wednesday night prayer meetings at WFC focussed specifically on supporting the Alpha course in prayer.

Maintenance work was undertaken in the church, with the utility area and WC benefiting from being painted and cleaned out.

October:

A Church Vision statement was issued to the church.

December:

The now usual series of Christmas events in the church calendar saw community carol singing at the Apple Tree Inn. The traditional carols by candlelight and nativity services were held.

Christmas Day saw us once again celebrate Christ's birth.
